Intelligent Ball Launcher for Multistage Fracturing

Intelligent Ball Launcher for Multistage Fracturing

The ASBR intelligent ball launcher for multistage fracturing consists of three core parts: the ball launcher body, electric actuator and control system. Through the rotating shaft mechanism, the ball launcher body releases the pre-installed fracture balls into the  tee in turn; the electric actuator provides power source for the rotating shaft and has status feedback and manual control functions to ensure that the ball launching operation can be completed under various circumstances on site; The control system adopts a control mode mainly wired and supplemented by wireless, which can achieve precise control of the actuator ±90° and complete the entire process of ball loading and launching. The system is equipped with a wireless module that can be ed with remote controls, instrument vehicles, and EISC systems, and an RS485 interface is reserved to support data communication with other automation equipment or remote monitoring platforms.

Before fracturing, the ball launcher is connected to the main fracturing pipeline through flanges or special joints. After opening the top cover, the electric actuator is controlled to turn over the ball basket, manually load the fracture balls at all levels in turn, and then the top cover is closed to complete the pre-assembly operation. During the construction process, by remotely controlling the electric actuator to rotate the ball basket, the fracture balls can be put into the  tee joint in turn. The launching status will be fed back to the remote control panel in real time and simultaneously transmitted to the instrument vehicles and the remote control center to realize the whole process. Visualization and standardized operation.

Product Features

  • Integrated design, supports full-process automation control for ball loading and ball launching

The ball launcher, electric actuator, and control system have a highly integration, a compact structure, and can complete the pre-loading of fracture balls in one go before construction, avoiding mid-process disassembly and stoppage of the pump operation, improving the continuity and safety of fracturing operations.

  • Intelligent control supports remote wireless operation and feedback monitoring

The control system has wired/wireless dual-channel control functions. The launching status can be fed back to the remote control and instrument vehicles in real time. It is also interconnected with the EISC system to realize remote monitoring and command synchronization of the fracturing process.

  • Easy to operate, highly adaptable, and supports manual backup control

The electric actuator has status feedback and manual control functions. Even in the event of on-site power failure or abnormal signal, it can still manually complete the launching operation, improving Incident Response Service capabilities.

  • Standard interface, strong adaptability, easy to integrate quickly

The ball launcher adopts a standard flange/quick-connect connection structure, which can be quickly connected to the main fracturing pipeline and is suitable for various fracturing equipment platforms and surface manifold arrangements.

  • Low structure, easy installation and reduced labor intensity

Compared with traditional devices, the overall height is optimized, the land occupation and installation space are reduced, and the use needs under limited wellsite space conditions are met.

  • Supports multiple communication protocols to facilitate system expansion and platform docking

The control system reserves an RS485 interface to support data sharing and age control with other automation equipment or platform systems.
